What will happen to you as a result of doing this work?img_3047

I can’t tell you exactly. I can tell you that for me, when I give myself time and space to explore what I want creatively, things change. When I do this with other people, that’s when the magic happens. You have compatriots to show you where you are blind, what makes you special, what is blocking you and what is easier than you think.

By the end of 6 weeks, you’ll be deeply immersed in a creative project whose momentum carries you with it.

A warning: this work can stir up powerful forces. Things might shift in a way you were not expecting. Consider this a call to action: if it speaks to you and the time is right, you’ll know, and you’ll find a way to make it happen.

“There’s no such thing as creative people and non-creative people. There are only people who use their creativity and people who don’t.”
– Brené Brown (from: to live a creative life)

Who is leading this?

“Coach Helma has an amazing gift for balancing firm and gentle facilitation and creating workshops that are both wildly funny and sincere.”

Hello! I am Faith Helma, creative guide, coach, performance artist and professional wild card. I am the creator and facilitator of these creative magic workouts.

I have over 15 years of experience working with groups and leading creative expeditions. I know how to build trust amongst strangers, make space for vulnerability and strength, and plan for the unexpected.

For years, I created plays from scratch with my theatre ensemble, led physical and vocal training, and taught workshops for actors, singers and theater creators.  I taught them how to fully use their bodies and voices, tap directly into their creative impulses, develop rapport with the audience and enter into that elusive state some call stage presence (and I call magic).

You might read all that and think, wow, doing creative things comes easy to her. She’s a naturally creative person. It’s not like that for me. Let me assure you: it does not come easy for me. I’m awkward, I doubt myself, I fall out of alignment. Every single brave thing I’ve done has been accompanied by terror and second guessing and a whole lot of mistakes. I didn’t go to grad school to get my MFA — instead, I have a PhD in learning the hard way. That’s 15 years of active creative work, group building, failure and trying things out. There is a reason I have developed so many exercises for overcoming fear, remembering what you already know, realigning with your inner power, charming the trolls that block you from your dreams, celebrating failure and summoning inner and outer champions: because I need to do these things every single day!

So that’s why I’m so passionate about this. I want to see all of us (myself included) living courageous, creative and connected lives. I want to do my part to create a beloved community of magical, heart-centered activists.
