Are you ready to create for the sheer thrill of it?
I’m Coach Faith Ra, and I am offering free coaching to 27 people over the summer. This is to get back into a creative zone, to welcome in a sense of play and magic, to feel a taste of that joy, confidence and fun you had as a kid, or wanted to have.
This is for restless, curious, wannabe visionaries.
This is for you if you’ve gotten turned upside down and put through the wringer. This is for you if you have always known you could be great if given the chance. This is for you if you used to write or paint or dance and then life happened and you stopped. This is for you if you painted poems on your bedroom wall when you were a teenager and you want to feel that kind of fire again. This is for you if you have been in a slump or a spiral or I DON’T KNOW A GLOBAL PANDEMIC.
Spend 60 minutes in creative practice with me: asking questions, drawing, writing, maybe dancing, maybe making some bad art on purpose. See if after an hour you haven’t remembered something about your powerful creative voice.
You are a creator.
I’m a creator too. I’ve been twisted out of shape in the last year and a half. It’s been hard, exhausting, impossible sometimes. A never-ending marathon, an ever-tightening tightrope, a jungle that reformulates around me whenever I get my bearings. Like other times in my life, creativity has helped me survive, helped me make sense of a radically shifting world, helped me endure, helped me reorient, helped me remember who I am and what I want.
This ability to create and play and envision: it is a world building skill, a vital skill, something we desperately need as a species, as a planet. It gets pushed to the margins and dismissed and that is not an accident. The hypnotic illusion of white patriarchal power, that troll we’ve all internalized, whispers in our ears, you are silly and inconsequential, this is so dumb, don’t even say it out loud, just keep this all to yourself.
The troll whispers this because it knows very well that asking questions and healing and resting and deep creative work are real, are powerful, and have serious far-reaching consequences.
This project is to remind myself that creative work is powerful. This project is to make room for the ability to imagine, pretend and envision. This project is to cultivate and celebrate that magical ability, in myself and in others.
Our powers become stronger when we gather, when we play together, when we create and contradict and spellcast and weather storms together. I want us to remind each other, to build each other up, and strengthen our creative envisioning muscles together.
What are you deeply wanting to create, to risk, to make, to do? What inklings do you want to explore, what impulses do you want to follow, what stories do you want to tell?
Sign up for a Creator session and let’s spend an hour going deep into that vision! We’ll create together, making a mess, stumbling into greatness. My hope is that at the end of the hour, you’ll feel energized, alive and reconnected to yourself.
Ready to create?
This can be a session just for you and me, or if you’ve got a friend or two you’d like to invite in with you, I can do small group coaching as well. I’m only offering these sessions between June 28 – August 31.
If you’re feeling nervous, that makes sense. It takes guts to do this! You’re not putting money on the line but you’re putting time, attention, your hopes and dreams on the line. I applaud you for stepping into the arena.
And if now is not the time, if you decide not to schedule a session, I also applaud you. You are listening to yourself and doing what works for you and that is also risky.

I am Coach Faith Ra (aka Faith Helma). I am an artist, a facilitator, a trickster, a coach, an improviser, a caregiver and a white woman in her 40s. I have a background in theatre and performance, and I’ve trained in ensemble / devised theater, mask, object and clown work, puppetry and polyphonic singing. Learn more about my work here, here and here, find me on instagram, or check out my community on Patreon, Coach Faith Ra’s Playhouse.
Here are some articles I’ve written that give you a sense of my approach to creative work and coaching:
“Helma, in her light electric blue sateen jumpsuit, makes solemn transitions from curious, to lost, quixotic, despairing, raging, tender, intellectual; all framed by the important idea that the quest, no matter how small or unknown, is at the heart of the living experience.”
